De-registration of sacred indigenous sites

Potential de-registration of sacred indigenous sites, clarifies the lack of respect towards indigenous spirituality, as well as the desire for wealth and minerals from the mining companies.

In response, to this proposed de-registration of sacred Indigenous sites, the Traditional owners in Western Australia are set to launch a class action lawsuit against them to let them know that the de-registration of sacred Indigenous sites is not OK.

Apparently, in the past year several culturally significant sites, including waterways in the Mid West, have had their protection withdrawn by the Government on the basis they no longer fit the definition of a sacred site.
